New and long-time supporters of SurfAid stepped up in a huge way for SurfAid in our second annual Swim 4 Life West Coast. Besides jumping in the pool and swimming some laps our participants reached out to friends and family for sponsorships of their efforts for a total of over $70,000 in donations to SurfAid’s programs!

The money raised is enough to power a year of SurfAid’s Community-Based Health Program in over 5 of the 22 SurfAid target communities of the Mentawai Islands. These efforts alone will help 2,000 residents live healthier lives and raise healthy children in the face of endemic malaria, malnutrition, and other dangerous yet preventable diseases.

We’re thrilled with the results and would like to extend a special thanks to everyone involved for raising awareness of the need to help the less-fortunate conquer dangerous global health issues.
