Under a beautiful sun drenched day it was all Aloha at this charity event. Over 100 participants ranging in ages from seven to seventy volunteered and competed and helped to raise awareness of bloody whaling and dolphin hunts,
and the capture, pollution, acoustic invasion, habitat destruction and food depletion of these majestic ocean creatures.

³The people at NorCal Surf shop are supportive of the surf community and this is a great cause². ³To be a part of this contest was an honor for our team and our town², said Curt Myers, founder of Powerlines Productions and Team Manager.
Both winners and losers were treated to a great breakfast and lunch donated by Pacifica¹s Gorilla barbecue. Festival t
ents hosted Surf products, artwork, environmental awareness, bands and booths featuring yoga and massage.
Bob Leonelli a lifetime surfer and MMSF founder got the idea to hold the event after following the exploits of Dave Rastovich, a professional surfer and founder of Surfers for Cetaceans.
³As a surfer I feel we are the true stewards of the sea. And if we won't stand up for these beautiful creatures then who will?² said Leonelli. ³What better way to bring awareness to the situation by holding an event at the
edge of their own habitat².
